THE FORGOTTEN FANS by Mrslim
The Forgotten Fans
As a 32 year old male fan of music, I wasn’t alive during the age of great soul singers or the great artists of the 70″s ( ie Sam Cooke , Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire etc ). I wasn’t able to see how their careers grew and matured. I was able to listen and appreciate their music after either their deaths or after they weren’t in the forefront of popular music. With Maxwell, I feel blessed as a lover of music to be able to see this mans career progress, have the anticipation of new music from him, and be able to watch him achieve the success and acclaim he deserves.
My cousin and I attended a Maxwell concert in 01 at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. He and I were having a good time, singing every song. And you ladies know how you come to the concert . Sexy, fine, and like Max says moisturized and pedicured nicely lol. And a female said to us ” you guys must be in heaven with all these females here.” We replied “that the females were extra and the reason we were there was to hear Max.” The point I am making is that the male fans love for his music and live performance runs just as deep as the ladies.
In closing, there is a source of forgotten fans, the male Maxwell fan. We are loyal lovers of music, and are thankful for being able to be alive and aware in the era of his music.
Thanks for your time and feel free to comment.
